All children deserve the care and support they need to have the best start in life. Children learn and develop at a faster rate from birth to five years old than at any other time in their lives, so their experiences in early years have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe, and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high-quality early learning provide the foundation children need to fulfil their potential.

Overarching Principles of EYFS:
C
Children really enjoyed watching The Wizard of Oz show after doing lots of learning about this story!
C
F2 have been on a trip to Magna to explore the pavilions and took part in a dinosaur dig workshop. We also, of course, had to visit the adventure playground in the glorious sunshine!
C
It was great to see lots of our F2 children take part in our Easter Bonnet competition!
c
F2 Trip to the Little Town of Play. Role-play is such a vital part of childhood
c
Children have loved learning about Chinese/Lunar New Year in F2. We have made Chinese Dragons, tasted some new food and made lanterns.
In order for children to understand the world around them, they must be fully immersed in it. How are children meant to know about the coldness of winter if they don’t feel it with their skin? Children in F2 are prepared to take on any weather in their wellies and waterproofs. They have enjoyed doing different experiments to freeze animals, sliding down like penguins in Antarctica and making snow angels with their friends.
c
Christmas Jumper Day in F2! Ho Ho Ho!
c
F2 children have been busy making some Christingles in preparation for our whole-school service
C
F2 posting their letters to Santa during Autumn 2 Term!
Children in F2 have enjoyed watching the eggs hatch and seeing the chicks grow day by day! So much language has been used and so much new vocabulary has been learnt. Welcome to the world baby chicks
